Main material: rattan

Our trays are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully like nature.

Rattan palms tend to grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants that take up space from other plants and drain many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow quickly without chemical aids, must be cut off regularly and, after the drying process, can be used as material for furniture and baskets. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and abundant material.

Factory:

This tray was handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories where we source our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process causes hardly any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
